X3 albion prelude free ships
The ships may be far from the center of the sector.ģ. The ships aren't unique anymore (you can buy previously unique ships at some shipyards in X3AP).Ģ. Legitimately, besides just flying around looking, you could also have a scout M5 fly around, or deploy satellites, at around +/- 50 km in all directions (including up and down), just to have a greater coverage of whatever system you're looking at.įinding the ships is, relatively, a bigger waste of time than in X3TC, because:ġ. It was boring, and too expensive for early game - so it's a bad answer, but it's all I've got. I did try searching them out in AP the first time I played it (out of habit, really), but the method I used wasn't exactly conducive to early game - I got a trio of Kestrels with explorer software, and had them move from sector to sector and map it on 3 different planes (move one to 0,0,0 and have it map sector, the next at 0,-50,0, the last at 0,50,0) -as they mapped, I watched the ship listing in the sector for empty ships.
When you do find something worthwhile, they're most likely going to be ships to stash until you have a HQ and can produce them (as it's the only way to get them). When you don't know where they are, and when you do find something it's not what you need, or not worth much there isn't much point. I don't bother specifically seeking them out like I did with X:R or TC - if you know where there's an iguana, and you need an iguana (or the money) it makes sense to go ship hunting.
